Refund policy
RETURNS, REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS
THANDO X INDUSTRIES supplies performance parts, engine components and precision-engineered products. This policy is subject to applicable South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA).
1. Returns
Eligible change-of-mind returns may be requested within 14 days of delivery. Items must be unused, uninstalled, unmodified and returned in their original condition and packaging, with accessories and proof of purchase.
Customers are responsible for return shipping for discretionary returns, where legally permitted. A 30% restocking fee may apply to approved discretionary returns where lawful. Deductions must not unlawfully restrict consumer rights.
2. Defective or Non-Compliant Goods
Under sections 55 and 56 of the CPA, qualifying defective or non-compliant goods may be returned within six months after delivery or installation, as applicable. Where statutory requirements are met, consumers may choose an applicable repair, replacement or refund.
These statutory rights are separate from our 14-day discretionary return policy. Restocking fees and return conditions will not be applied where they unlawfully restrict statutory rights.
3. Fitment and Compatibility
Customers should verify vehicle specifications, engine codes, modifications and intended applications before ordering. Returns resulting from incorrect customer orders or inaccurate vehicle information are subject to our discretionary return terms and applicable law.
If a product is incorrectly supplied, misdescribed or unsuitable for a specific purpose communicated to and accepted by THANDO X INDUSTRIES, the claim will be assessed under applicable consumer protection legislation.
4. Installed or Modified Parts
Installed, used, dismantled, machined or modified components may not qualify for discretionary change-of-mind returns. Defect claims will be assessed individually. Installation or use does not automatically remove statutory consumer rights.
5. Cancellations
Customers may request cancellation or removal of items within 15 minutes of placing an order. Once processing or dispatch begins, cancellation may be restricted, subject to statutory rights. Special-order and custom-made products may have additional restrictions where legally permitted.
6. Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Items
Inspect orders upon delivery and contact us promptly if items are damaged, defective, incorrect or not as described. Provide your order number, a description of the issue and supporting photographs where available. We may arrange a reasonable technical assessment.
7. Installation and Engine Damage
Incorrect installation, misuse, unsuitable modifications or improper tuning may cause component failure or engine damage. THANDO X INDUSTRIES is not automatically responsible for damage caused by these factors. Any limitation of liability remains subject to applicable law.
8. Exchanges and Exceptions
Contact us before returning an item. Custom-made, special-order, installed or modified products may be excluded from discretionary returns where permitted by law. These exclusions do not remove statutory rights.
9. Return Procedure
Email ian@thandox.co.za with your order number, product details, reason for return and supporting evidence. Await return instructions before sending the item back.
10. Refunds
Approved or legally required refunds will be processed using the original payment method where reasonably practicable, subject to applicable law and payment-provider processing times. Any restocking fee or shipping deduction must be legally permissible.
11. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits rights under the CPA, ECTA or other applicable South African legislation. Statutory online-purchase cancellation rights may apply. Where this policy conflicts with mandatory law, the law prevails.
